Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day?
Have you forgotten?
8:46 A.M. EDT Flight 11 Hits the North Tower of the World Trade Center
Flight 175 Nears the World Trade Center
Our Lady weeping for her People that she could not save, as the smoke from the terrorists cowardly attack burns her eyes and fuels her resolve to demand justice from all involved, no matter where they run or who hides them.
Firefighters saving the Pentagon, as their brothers in New York died in the line of duty.
The Heroes of Flight 93
All aboard died in that Pennsylvania field, trying to save others from the terrorists.
Their deed was great, but their words were simply, "Let's roll!"
Long May She Wave…
I can't tell you how much I feel your loss, I wish I could. I can only give you this small tribute to show you how much the deaths of so many of my American brothers and sisters has forever changed my life.
Now I truly understand the meaning of these words and how lucky I was as a child to have the privilege to say them. Because it meant I was an American.

Where Were You?
Alan Jackson
Where were you when the world stopped turnin' that September day? Out in the yard with your wife and children; Or working on some stage in L.A.? Did you stand there in shock at the sight of that black smoke Rising against that blue sky? Did you shout out in anger in fear for your neighbor Or did you just sit down and cry?
Did you weep for the children that lost their dear loved ones? Did you pray for the ones who don't know? Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble and sob for the ones left below? Did you burst out in pride for the red white and blue And the heroes who died just doin' what they do? Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer? And look at yourself for what really matters?
(Chorus) I'm just a singer of simple songs; I'm not a real political man I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you the difference in Iraq and Iran But I know Jesus and I talk to God And I remember this from when I was young Faith, Hope and Love are some good things He gave us And the greatest is Love.
Where were you when the world stopped turning That September day? Teaching a class full of innocent children; Driving down some cold interstate? Did you feel guilty 'cause you're a survivor in a crowded room did you feel alone? Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her? Did you dust off that bible at home?
Did you open your eyes hope it never happened; And close your eyes and not go to sleep? Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages; Or speak to some stranger on the street? Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow; Go out and buy you a gun? Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watchin' And turn on "I Love Lucy" reruns?
Did you go to a church and hold hands with some strangers? Stand in line and give your own blood? Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family Thank God you had somebody to love?
(Chorus) I'm just a singer of simple songs; I'm not a real political man I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you the difference in Iraq and Iran But I know Jesus and I talk to God And I remember this from when I was young Faith, Hope and Love are some good things He gave us And the greatest is Love.
I'm just a singer of simple songs; I'm not a real political man I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you the difference in Iraq and Iran But I know Jesus and I talk to God And I remember this from when I was young Faith, Hope and Love are some good things He gave us And the greatest is Love. And the greatest is Love. And the greatest is Love.

On September 11, 2001, I was at work at Three Mile Island nuclear plant. I walked past a cubicle where a man was talking on the phone, about this story on his computer that planes hit the World Trade Center. I dismissed it as an internet hoax. A minute later, our Site Manager told us about the same story. Then my husband called from work to tell me the attack was real. In the home office, they were watching it on the conference room's tv.
While the fourth plane was missing, we thought we might be a target at Three Mile Island. They locked down the power plant and and trapped all of us there on the island. We could not have left, even if we knew that plane was headed straight for us.
Fighter jets and Apache helicopter gunships started patrolling over TMI and the other 2 nuclear plants on the Susquehanna River. During the aftermath, the planes continued their patrol up and down the river every 20 minutes. Our house was in their flight path, but we weren't getting much sleep anyway.
Randy called me back to tell me the news reported the missing plane crashed 6 miles from Somerset, PA. My mother lives 6 miles from Somerset. I started calling Mom that morning, but couldn't reach her until 17:00. For hours, all I could get was a recording saying, "All circuits are busy..." That night I learned the plane went down 6 miles east of Somerset, my Mom lives 6 miles west of Somerset.
The image I'll never be able to forget was watching the news footage of people jumping from the burning towers to escape the flames. At first the reporter thought they were birds or debris, but as the cameraman zoomed in it was painfully clear that many people were jumping. Many jumped in pairs, holding hands. I truly believe they didn't jump to the street below, but into God's waiting arms.

Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Flies Aaron Tippin
Well if you ask me where I come from Here's what I tell everyone I was born by God's dear grace In an extra-ordinary place Where the stars and stripes and the eagle flies...
It's a big old land with countless dreams. Happiness ain't out of reach Hard work pays off the way it should Yea, I've seen enough to know that we got it good
Where the stars and stripes and the eagle flies... There's a lady that stands in a harbor for what we believe And there's a bell that still echoes the price that it cost to be free
I pledge allegiance to the flag And if that bothers you, well that's too bad But if you've got pride, and you're pride to do Hey, we can use more like me and you
Where the stars and stripes and the eagle flies... Yes, There's a lady that stands in a harbor for what we believe And there's a bell that still echoes the price that it cost to be free
No, it ain't the only place on earth It's the only place that I prefer To love my wife and raise my kids (Hey) The same way my daddy did
Where the stars and stripes and the eagle flies... Where the stars and stripes and the eagle flies...

American girls and American guys will always stand up and salute; Will always recognize When we see ol' glory flying, There's a lot of men dead, So we can sleep in peace at night when we lay down our head.
My daddy served in the army, Where he lost his right eye. But he flew a flag out in our yard 'til the day that he died. He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me To grow up and live happy in the land of the free.
Now this nation that I love has fallen under attack. A mighty sucker punch came flying in from somewhere in the back. Soon as we could see clearly through our big black eye, Man we lit up your world like the Fourth of July.
Hey Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list, And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist. And the eagle will fly, And there's gonna be Hell, When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell! It's gonna feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you... Brought to you courtesy of the Red, White and Blue!
Oh, Justice will be served and the battle will rage. This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage You'll be sorry that you messed with the US of A 'Cuz we'll put a boot in your ass It's the American way.
Hey Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list, And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist. And the eagle will fly, And there's gonna be Hell, When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell! And it'll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you... Truck Dedication 9/11 Tribute
This truck is awesome. Their names are John & Amy Holmgren. They live in Shafer Minn. They thought this would be a nice tribute to the people that lost their lives. It has every name of each person that lost their life on 9-11.
This concept was thought up by John and Amy, and totally paid for by them. John says he will be awhile paying the loan off that he had to take out to do it but, thought this was the least he could do.
Applied Graphics in Fargo ND did most of the work and PaulKosenski did the Hand painting.
He said that he got to meet the Country Singer Darryl Worley, who Sang the song "Have You Forgotten" and has gotten pulled over 3 times by the police just to get their picture taken by this truck.
It is called the Rolling 9-11 Memorial, it has all the names of the people who were killed on that day and the flights they were on plus some other graphics on the side of the Tractor.

Star Spangled Banner - USA National Anthem
Lifted from robesus.com
Oh, say can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep, Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, now conceals, now discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam, In full glory reflected now shines on the stream: 'Tis the star-spangled banner! O long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion A home and a country should leave us no more? Their blood has wiped out their foul footstep's pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave: And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand Between their loved homes and the war's desolation! Blest with victory and peace, may the heaven-rescued land Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: "In God is our trust." And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

If you have Quick Time, you should be able to click on this link to see the lights that show where the World Trade Center Towers once stood. Not only that, but you can use the panoramic scanning by clicking on the picture and scrolling around to see the lights at the bottom and following them up to the sky above.
There are different years you can click on. Use shift to zoom in and control to zoom out.

Forget? How can I forget? Four years ago I sat there and could do nothing but scream NO NO NO! As the news kept bringing in more from Washington DC and a field in PA I like millons of others wondered who would be next!
Then the reality of New Yok came clear as my phone rang and e-mails arrived and after 5 days of little sleep while I tried to verify the dead and dismiss the rumors I came sadly to the fact that 39 people I knew and grew up with have died in that hell. What was their crime? What were they doing to be made to suffer and die that way? NOTHING! They were at their jobs earning a stinking living trying to live the American dream.

Fly Old Glory at half mast today.
By a joint resolution approved December 18, 2001 (Public Law 107-89), the Congress has designated September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day."
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim September 11, 2003, as Patriot Day. I call upon the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities, including remembrance services and candlelight vigils. I also call upon the Governors of the United States and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, as well as appropriate officials of all units of government, to direct that the flag be flown at half-staff on Patriot Day. In addition, I call upon all Americans to display the flag at half-staff from their homes on that day and to observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 a.m. eastern daylight time to honor the innocent victims who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Mark D. Phillips, a professional AP photographer in New York, captured an incredibly real image of an evil, devil-like face that is distinguishable on the side of the tower's exterior structure. The authenticity of this image has caused a bit of a stir. Our research has concluded that his image is original and not doctored.
A photograph of one of the original crosses found on the top of the rubble (image above). It is the same cross used in the October 4th memorial ceremony with the New York City Fire Department. The cross of steel beams was blessed at Ground Zero on the northwestern side of the World Trade Center attack site.

I'll never forget that awful day when so many innocent people died. I was at work and we all watched in disbelief in the conference room. We all sat around numb for the rest of the day. I think the office may have closed at noon. I went home and the roads around my neighborhood were so quiet. It seemed like everyone had retreated into the safety of their homes. Later, when I was walking my dog at the lake, a man who I had only seen in passing, stopped by just to talk. He lived alone and seemed to be in shock and needed someone to talk to about this awful tragedy. Our world, as we know it changed that day.....
